Research on Hadoop’s Usage in VOD System

Abstract

Abstract: Firstly, this paper simply introduces the current VOD system and points out the shortages of the VOD system storage architecture, then introduces Hadoop, analyzes HDFS storage mechanism and characteristics, points out the advantage of the architecture that stores video files in Hadoop cluster. At last, the paper introduces a prototype VOD system based on Hadoop, summarizes the advantages of the system, and gives a further research plan.
