Irregular Projection Transformation Matrix in CAVE System

Abstract: CAVE system consists of four square projection planes forming a three-dimensional space, and it can visually show complex data and bring users exceptional immersive experience. Based on the analysis of the projection transformation matrix, the paper proposes a fast calculation method of constructing irregular projection transformation matrix by constructing CAVE projected coordinate system. This method enables that CAVE system is no longer limit to the standard cube space. Through obtaining the users’ coordinate position in CAVE projection matrix and realtime computing projection transformation matrix, a best observation position is given to the users by using this method.
