Abstract: We designed a human vital signs monitoring system based on multiple wearable sensors. It consists of an MSP430 micro-controller for the central processing and a CC2540 SoC for the Bluetooth low-energy based on wireless data transmission. This paper presented its working principles, hardware design, software design and experiments. Experimental results show that the system can reliably capture and monitor the users ECG (electrocardiogram), PPG (photoplethysmography), heart rate, spO2 (oxygen saturation), body temperature and blood pressure. It also can communicate with smart phones and then upload the data to a remote monitoring center for further analysis and diagnosis. This system provides a reliable solution for tele-healthcare supported by the technologies of Internet of things and embedded systems.
