Explosion Smoke Simulation Based on Particle System

Abstract: Particle system is a common method of smoke simulation in 3D technology. According to the movement manner of explosion smoke, the expanding of explosion smoke is simulated by controling velocity and size of particles. The rolling effect is simulated by controling normal rotation and sampling texture vertex rotation. The smoke particles are rendered with Alpha blending technology and particle quadrilateral changing to spherical. With few particles, the explosion smoke show perfect simulation effect and real-time performance. Experiments show that this method is of good real-time performance.
