Abstract: Manual mapping method is adopted by the mining geologic surveying department while compiling the drawings of mine geologic sketch picture. However, many disadvantages such as slow mapping speed, poor mapping precision, difficulty in modification and management are caused subsequently. So the old method using manual mapping and processing can not meet the need of modernization. A new system implementing automatic mapping based on ArcGIS Engine is proposed, and the main architecture and basic function of this system are introduced.
