Abstract: Inordertoaddresstheproblemthatthedataminingprocessoftentobenottransparentandlackofuserinteraction,wedesignandimplementtheVISDMinersystem.VISDMinercombinesthevisualizationtechnologyandthedataminingtechnologytoprovidethecapabilityofanalyzingandvisualizingpartialresultsofallstagesofminingprocess.Duringtheprocedures,userscantunetheparametersofdataminingalgorithmandvisualizationsaccordingtotheirdomainknowledgeandexperiencetoachievefurtherdataexploration.Inordertodealwithhigh-dimensionaldataset,VISDMinersystemusesanimprovedalgorithmMIC-PCAforprincipalcomponentanalysisbasedonthemaximuminformationcoefficient.ThealgorithmismainlyaimedatimprovingthedimensionalityreductionandclassificationaccuracyoftraditionalPCAalgorithms.TheexperimentalresultsshowthatVISDMinenotonlyrealizesthevisualizationofthedataminingprocess,butalsoimprovestheuser’sunderstandabilityofthedataminingresults,andtheMIC-PCAalgorithmalsoimprovesthedimensionalityreductionandclassificationaccuracyofPCAalgorithm.
