Cooperation Between Traffic Control and Route Guidance Based on Real-time Speed

Abstract: In order to reduce total network travel time and improve the efficiency of road network, a cooperation model of traffic control and route guidance is built based on real-time speed. Genetic algorithm is used to solve the cooperation model to get the best control and guidance scheme through transforming constraints genetic algorithm into unconstrained genetic algorithm by penalty function. In microscopic traffic simulation software Vissim, a small road network with four intersections is established by simulation experiment. The simulation results show that this method can effectively reduce total travel time and improve the efficiency of road network.
