Abstract: This article takes the design of the AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) Ethernet switch board as an example to introduce the realization of the AMC board based on the MicroTCA system. The AMC Ethernet switch board can be divided into two logical parts: Ethernet switch module and Module Management Controller (MMC). This article introduces the chip selection, logic function, interconnect fabric, and management interface of the two parts. Most of all, it gives a full description of the design of the Module Management Controller (MMC) on the AMC board, which provides a good reference of designing other types of MicroTCA AMC boards.

