Abstract: In view of the condition that dot density map is frequently used for rendering a map in GIS and the datum relating to the map are vividly showed by the amount of random points， this paper proposes an algorithm for generating a given number of random points based on polygon rasterization. With the algorithm, a perfect dot density map can be rendered.
