Abstract:

The information system for universities is an integrated unit. But each of its subsystem is highly independent and thus its data and services cannot be shared due to the limit of software developing technologies and the slow development of information system for universities. Thereby, information system integration is an important research area to the construction of the information system for universities as well as a pressing problem faced by universities.
Web service is a selfdescription and selfcontain application module, which is independent of developing platform and programming language. Based on the above advantages, service oriented architecture realizes a kind of standard, loose and coupling application architecture within systems. This paper points out the problems according to the traditional integration solution for universities, and puts forward the application integration solution based on the SOA and the Web services.
