Abstract: This paper introduces the mathematical descriptions of the model of integrate and fire spiking neuron. The transformation from stimulus into spike trains in spiking neuron is discussed. The generation of output spike trains from input spike trains of the neuron is presented. The experimental results show that the spiking neuron does well in information representation, information distinguish and image reconstruction. The method of employing spiking neural networks in information processing is proposed.
