Abstract: Routing of data in a vehicular ad hoc network is a challenging task due to the high dynamics of such a network, which can cause failure or inefficiency in traditional ad hoc routing protocols. This paper proposes an advanced adaptive routing (AAR) protocol that addresses these problems by adaptively selecting an optimal route based on real-time traffic flow. And the AAR can accurately predict vehicles position based on their directions and speeds. The simulation results show that the AAR protocol outperforms existing VANET routing protocols.
